ZenX Launches Japan's First Finance BPaaS, Combining AI and Fractional CFOs to Take On Finance Operations End to End for Startups and Growth Companies
Partnering with Frost & Sullivan, with 40 offices worldwide, to strengthen growth and overseas expansion support for startups
ZenX Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Masahiro Goto) has launched Finance BPaaS (*1) (the "Service"), a new service for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises that provides end-to-end support for accounting, budget-versus-actual management, fundraising, and investor relations.
In rolling out the Service, ZenX has partnered with Frost & Sullivan, a US-headquartered research and consulting firm, to provide startups and growth companies with comprehensive support including megatrend analysis, technology analysis, introductions to large corporations, fundraising support, and IPO support.
*1 BPaaS = Business Process as a Service

■ Background
In recent years, startups and small and medium-sized enterprises have faced a growing burden in finance operations: increasingly complex regulatory compliance in accounting and tax, more sophisticated disclosure obligations accompanying fundraising, and weakened back-office functions due to labor shortages.
In addition to regulatory requirements such as the invoice system and the Electronic Books Preservation Act, fundraising and M&A demand monthly reporting, budget-versus-actual management, and data room operations, rapidly increasing the burden on the front lines. These tasks also tend to depend on specific individuals, and inconsistent data and time lags frequently become obstacles to decision-making.
Startups with limited human resources and budgets in particular find it difficult to hire a dedicated CFO, and have needed a structure that runs strategy and execution at the same time.
■ Service Overview
ZenX's CEO has an extensive track record in both fundraising and business expansion in Japan and abroad: beginning with corporate finance work in an investment banking division (IBD), followed by fundraising from financial institutions, SaaS business development, and expansion into Asian markets at Uzabase (*2), and, at AnyMind Group (*3), seed-stage fundraising from angel investors and leading new business development as head of local operations in Asia.
He then founded ZenX, an HR-and-AI startup, securing funding from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and completing pre-seed and seed fundraising, while also supporting financial strategy primarily for startups. Building on this expertise, Finance BPaaS combines AI-driven process automation with the knowledge of CFO-level professionals to comprehensively provide the following capabilities.

*3 AnyMind Group Inc.: A technology company founded in Singapore in 2016, operating marketing support and e-commerce platform businesses primarily across Asia. Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market
■ Key Features
<Sourcing and assigning fractional CFO talent → Specialists in fundraising and IPO preparation support company growth>
ZenX sources professionals from venture capital firms, banks and investment banks, and the CFO offices of venture companies, and assigns them to clients on a fractional basis. While hiring a full-time CFO grows ever more difficult, fractional CFOs with diverse expertise support the areas finance teams struggle to cover, including financial planning, investor introductions, and bank relations.
<Early monthly close with automated journal entries / BPO-based data entry → Reduces executives' workload by about 7 hours per week (roughly 75%)>
AI-powered learning-based journal entry and reconciliation processing enables a monthly close within 10 business days of month-end.
<Automatic generation of a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast → Visualizing cash flow greatly reduces the risk of running out of cash>
Based on sales, billing, and deposit data, cash flow is automatically visualized 13 weeks ahead. Deviations are detected as exceptions and shared immediately.
<Structured management reporting with AI-generated drafts → Quantitative support for fundraising and management decision-making>
Cash position, runway, budget-versus-actual variance analysis, KPI trends, and scenario-based funding outlooks are standardized. AI drafts reports, Q&A documents, and investor letters, and the assigned CFO reviews and supervises the content.
<VDR (virtual data room) setup and support for overseas investors (optional)>
Support extends to overseas expansion, covering English translation of reports, data room organization, meeting arrangements with overseas investors, and advice on local accounting and legal systems.
■ Global as a Service (Overseas Expansion Support for Startups)
ZenX provides overseas expansion support for startups as "Global as a Service." Through this partnership, it will leverage Frost & Sullivan's network of more than 40 offices worldwide to provide global megatrend analysis, technology analysis, and due diligence to startups and growth companies from the early stage.
It will also provide services that accelerate the global expansion of Japan-born startups, such as arranging meetings with overseas investors and setting up interviews with prospective local partners.
<Meeting arrangement (e.g., Singapore / India / European VCs)>
Coordinating meetings with overseas investors and prospective local partners.
Supporting the building of global relationships tailored to objectives such as investment, partnerships, and market entry.
<Research for overseas expansion>
For startups and growth companies considering overseas expansion, ZenX conducts multifaceted research into local market structures, competitors, and regulatory environments, and supports the formulation of execution strategies for investment, partnerships, and go-to-market entry.
<Overseas investor Q&A and financial model refinement>
Support for anticipating questions from overseas investors and sharpening English-language financial models and pitch materials.
Working alongside clients to build a "well-grounded story" that raises Investor Trust.
<Data room operation>
Combining AI with CFO expertise to build data rooms ready for due diligence.
Enabling transparent, consistent information sharing among investors.
